FEED A FRIEND
Our Feed A Friend service makes regular food drops to individuals and families around Levenshulme and Longsight in Manchester. The food drops consist of packages of essential items and food cupboard staples for those in need of extra support.
Therefore I ask, don’t we have a responsibility as Muslims to help the people? Is it not our job as witnesses over mankind, as the Ummah of Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) to help relieve their burdens? This work, to feed the people, is also a part of our Da’wah; to help & highlight to the people of this country that the Muslims are taking the initiative – that whoever needs our help we’re willing to provide it!
The Myriad Foundation has established the Feed A Friend network in collaboration with mosques in Manchester; intending to provide, nutritionally balanced, non-perishable food and support to people experiencing crisis in the UK.
We hope to provide an end to end service, organised by the Muslim community from collection and sorting all the way through to distribution directly to the people. The Prophet (salallahu alaihi wa sallam) is reported to have said: “The most beloved of deeds according to Allah are the continuous ones, even if they are little."
